Chapter Eight
Aamil
“What took you so long to answer the fucking phone?” I asked Drew. Lately, she had been dodging a nigga and I didn’t like that shit. I told her that we should just chill out and be friends and her ass was trying to act out for some attention and shit. Things like that was the main reason why I couldn’t fuck with her on some serious shit, because she was still immature as hell. Drew smacked her lips on the other end of the phone and sighed. She also had a fucked up attitude and Kasam might have liked that about Erin, but I didn’t. I didn’t want no slick talking bitch, pretty or not. I liked my women chill just like me. Drew was the complete fucking opposite of me and that had me fucked up because I couldn’t stop thinking about her little ass.
“Aamil, I work and I’m trying to get that FICA score up. That’s what I have been doing,” she replied rudely as hell. I chuckled and wished that I could be in front of her ass right now. Knowing a nigga locked down had her talking reckless as hell. I knew she was salty about me telling her that we couldn’t be together, but damn. Regardless of what I was saying, she was still living off of the money that I left her and still driving the car that I bought her, so I was showing her ass just how much she meant to me.
“Aye chill out with all of that shit, and what the fuck are you working for?” I asked her ass. I had left her more than enough money to live off of. She had no reason to shake her fucking ass for money. I knew a lot of her issues stemmed from problems she had with her pops and shit. She told me things that she said no one knew about.
“Because I’m trying to get my shit together. I got my GED and I’m making some good money at my job. I’m also making clothes, so I’ve decided to take some classes at this college and maybe open up a shop. I already got some clients, Aamil,” she said excitedly. I loved to hear her like this. She was always angry over shit she couldn’t change.
“I’m happy to hear that, ma. Are you back talking to the fam?” I asked and looked around. Luke’s cousin was locked up with me and he watched my back just off of the respect of Luke, so I knew I was good, but I still didn’t want a nigga to catch me slipping. After checking out my surroundings, I went back to my phone conversation. “So did you Baby D?” I asked using the nickname I gave her that she hated.
“Don’t fucking call me that shit, Aamil, and no I haven’t. Fuck them! If you not out then I don’t see a reason why I even need to be in the ‘D’…I miss you so much,” she replied.
